San Diego, CA – Former California State Assembly Republican Leader Martin Garrick today announced his endorsement of Matt Gunderson’s campaign for Congress in California’s 49th district.
“I represented much of North County San Diego in the California State Assembly,” said Garrick. “Matt Gunderson has the leadership qualities that San Diego needs in our Congressional representative to fix the economy and stop Washington’s out-of-control inflation.”
Martin Garrick represented North County San Diego in the California State Assembly from 2006 until he was termed out in 2012. While in the State Assembly, Garrick served as Minority Leader for Assembly Republicans in 2010. Before his time in the Legislature, Garrick served in the Reagan Administration and later founded two successful businesses of his own. He is the immediate Past-Chair of the Lincoln Club of San Diego County, an organization he has been a member of for over thirty years.
“I’m glad to have the support of Martin Garrick,” said Gunderson. “Martin has been fighting for limited government and the free market for decades, going back to his time in the Reagan administration. He knows I’ll fight to put an end to the inflation crisis, lower taxes, reduce our high cost of living, and keep our neighborhoods safe.”
Garrick’s endorsement comes on the heels of Gunderson’s recently announced endorsements from 2022 Republican nominee for Controller Lanhee Chen and former Congresswoman Mimi Walters.
